Postal workers will walk off the job this morning over an unfinished argument with Australia Post.

The CEPU says the strike is part of a continuous movement that includes bans on overtime, sorting parcels, and checking postage.
Australia Post says only 25% of its employees are planning to walk off the job and the interruption should be minor.

Alex Twomey spokesman of Australia Post says the decision is unpleasant and we will be able to call in enough extra staff to lessen the impact and we will work to ensure people's Christmas cards and presents go through.

South Australia unemployed rate still less than national rate

The official unemployed rate in South Australia rise up to 0.2% in November, to 5.5% periodically adjusted. It is less than the national rate of 5.7%. South Australia Employment Minister says the Government will keep working to help more people find jobs. The youth unemployment rate raised to 29.9% compared to the national rate of 25.2%. That means there are 4,900 people in this state who are jobless.
